I know how you feel. My youngest son didn’t talk until he was almost 3 - he’s 6 now. His problem was his ears - he couldnt hear us very well (ear canals were closed) - I use to wonder why he wouldnt pay attention to me…he saw my mouth moving but was pretty much like whatever…he would point and drag you to where he wanted you to go-lol. We had to have tubes put into his ears -which he still has (they’ve fallen out once and had to be reinserted). His speech has gotten better with time -once he got around his peers he started picked up things pretty fast. ..consider that how your son speaks now…he maybe should have been speaking that way a year ago..so there is definately going to be some lag time -I would maybe have him checked out by someone else and make sure he doesnt need tubes in his ears. Otherwise, just give it some time…if he is just starting to talk -he is like a year behind in his motor skills. Work with him everynight. My oldest daughter(who is 12 now) was a big help. She was the total opposite- she could count to 100, knew her colors and ABC by the time she was 2. Every child is different, as long as you are sure he is not deaf…then just give it sometime. Good luck
