I know how you feel. My youngest son didn’t talk until he was almost 3 - he’s 6 now. His problem was his ears - he couldnt hear us very well (ear canals were closed) - I use to wonder why he wouldnt pay attention to me…he saw my mouth moving but was pretty much like whatever…he would point and drag you to where he wanted you to go-lol. We had to have tubes put into his ears -which he still has (they’ve fallen out once and had to be reinserted). His speech has gotten better with time -once he got around his peers he started picked up things pretty fast. ..consider that how your son speaks now…he maybe should have been speaking that way a year ago..so there is definately going to be some lag time -I would maybe have him checked out by someone else and make sure he doesnt need tubes in his ears. Otherwise, just give it some time…if he is just starting to talk -he is like a year behind in his motor skills. Work with him everynight. My oldest daughter(who is 12 now) was a big help. She was the total opposite- she could count to 100, knew her colors and ABC by the time she was 2. Every child is different, as long as you are sure he is not deaf…then just give it sometime. Good luck

Landlord responsible for mice removal?

You should re-read your lease and find out if the landlord is responsible for pest removal. It should indicate this in your lease. I would also mention the cracks and holes to the landlord. Maybe he can send someone to come patch them up. I understand the hassle of pests around the warmer months, but if […]

I understand the hassle of pests around the warmer months, but if your landlord does not pay for pest removal, you will have to. Use traps or something. Mice droppings are harmful to humans especially babies! Understand that this time of year, many places are under attack. Depending on where you live, even the cleanest of houses! (yes mice pass through clean homes!) If it is too much to bear, you only have 2 months remaining on your lease. I would use that time to weigh your options and decide if you would like to move or not.

Good Luck!

Why don’t you file an extension so you have until October to submit your return?

I just mailed my extension with an estimated tax payment.

You HAVE TO mail the extension request post mark TODAY!

If you’re making only 18K, use the 1040EZ form. The extension form is 4868 and pay an estimated tax you might pay to IRS, most likely not much if you claim 0 on your W4 form.

I used TURBOTAX.COM and use their FREE service and print out the extension form after entering all my info and it would give me an estimated how much I owe, and I pay that much along with the extension.

you have to mail it today post mark it today. You will have until Oct. 15 to submit your filing.

Once you do that, you have alot of time and your dad will be able to help you. Use the link below to gather all the necessary documents to file tax.

http://www.usps.com/tax/filingchecklist.htm

It’s not that scary, but to have peace of mind. File the extension today. Call your local post office to see what time is the last pickup.

There’re some post office open until Mid-night today for late birds. Call them to find out where. Remember to pay your tax due along with the request.

Is it healthier to breathe through your nose than the mouth?

Truthfully, yes. But it’s not going to make that much of a difference. You know all those pesky nose-hairs that can become an embaressment if they get too long and out of control? Well. they actually act as a sort of filter to germs and other pollutants. The germs, dust, etc, […]

Well. they actually act as a sort of filter to germs and other pollutants. The germs, dust, etc, gets stuck on the nose and trapped in a booger or sometimes get’s sneezed out. Plus your sinuse just behing your nose are sort of coiled, which also helps. The problem is that most germs we pick up aren’t inhaled. They are usually placed directly into our mouths, noses or eyes when you touch these places with contaminated hands…. It would only help in prevention it were a disease spread by droplet (like TB). Best defense is hand washing, so keep those hands clean!

very weird/bad dream?

seems to be that this dream is about life choices. two necklaces two exits. it reminds me of that poem about the two roads- the one every travells on- the easy road. and the path less travelled- the harder road. the road that in the end made all the difference. it seems like you are in a difficult […]

two necklaces
two exits.

it reminds me of that poem about the two roads- the one every travells on- the easy road. and the path less travelled- the harder road. the road that in the end made all the difference.

it seems like you are in a difficult time in your life and facesd with some decisions about how to progress. will you take the harder path- the harder exit to grasp the more valuable necklace or do you just want to get out of this situation - take the easy way out and keep the cheapo necklace that you try to convince yourself is not that bad.

the fact that you have ‘found hints along the way’ to show you to the more valuable necklace shows that in real life you probably know what it is that you need to do ideally but you are not sure its worth the effort. the dream would suggest that actually, it is worth the effort.

The good news is a “nice” guitar tuner can be had for a song. A tuner can range anywhere from $20 to $120 but there are many really, really good professional tuners available for as little as $30. Here are a few recommendations.

Korg has a number of tuners in various price ranges. We like the GA40 ($30). It is ultra compact and can be used with electric, acoustic and bass guitars.

Planet Waves also has a numer of fine tuners inlcuding their “working man’s” Chromatic Tuner ($29.99) and their nifty Chromatic Pedal Tuner ($129.99), which is a rugged, roadworthy floor pedal that will allow you stay in tune while playing with your band.

Other companies with super-reliable tuners in a multitude of price ranges include Sabine, Boss and Peterson.

Truth is, most tuners work pretty good these days. I’d advise you to go to your local music store, tell ‘em how much you want to spend and let them demo a couple options for you and see which one you like best.

I am attending a middle school in korea :) Well, as you may know, Koreans are 1year old when they are born. So in Korea you get one age older !
In korea you can go to elementary school at 8(Korean age)
that means you can go at 7. There is no Kindergarden in Korea. But there is a similar one called ‘infant school’. When you are 5-7years old, you go can go there, but it is not forced. you have your free to decide. As a result the oppurtunity education starts from elementary school. Of course it doesn’t require any money. You go there at the same age as in the U.S. (7years old in U.S. age) Then you graduate when you are 12(U.S. age). Then you enter middle school. Almost every middle school has their own uniform. you attend middle school for 3years. This is the end of the forced education system. Yet, about 98% go to highschools. You attend highschools for 3years. After you graduate, some go to college and some don’t, I mean they can’t. college takes 4years. When you graduate you are supposed to be 23. But Boys attend the military for 2years. so when Men graduate they are 25. Men go to the army when they are 20. and come back at 21 or so.
Except the Military part, it is almost the same as America or other countries.
P.S. we do not call our schools institutes, we call them schools !!

We did something similar, when my second son was born, once he was sleeping through the night, we moved him into a bedroom with my older son who was 2 1/2.

For the naps, not sure if your daughter is still napping or not? My older son was phasing them out when we moved them in together, so I would put the baby down for naps in the bedroom, and my older son I’d have lie on my bed for naps, or just quiet time. Bedtime was never an issue. I put a small fan in their room for some “white noise”, but honestly they never fooled around and never wake eachother up. I guess I was lucky.

We have since moved and my boys are now 6 and 4, and they elected to continue to share a room in the new house, even though we have more than enough bedrooms now!

My sisters two girls who are 15 months apart have shared a room since they were 2 and 1. They did have a tendency to fool around at bedtime and not go to sleep, so she arranged the room so they couldn’t really see eachother from their cribs, even bought one of those screens to put up as a divider. So she did that and would be very firm at bedtime about “no talking”, etc. Its worked out so far.

Good luck!!

Chicken, cheap….. and expensive?

It’s clearly a matter of what the market will bear, especially if people are misled into thinking they’re getting something that is worth more money. For instance, the typical McD’s beef eater isn’t all that concerned about what he eats. On the other hand, a person who wants chicken at McDonald’s is perhaps […]

It’s clearly a matter of what the market will bear, especially if people are misled into thinking they’re getting something that is worth more money. For instance, the typical McD’s beef eater isn’t all that concerned about what he eats. On the other hand, a person who wants chicken at McDonald’s is perhaps more fastidious, and won’t be easily led into eating something else. So they’ll pay more to get what they want.

There is nothing healthy about McD’s chicken sandwiches. Most all of them (I realize there are a couple minor exceptions) are breaded and deep-fried, which means they are nothing but grease-soaked pucks with a chicken center. The grilled one is probably marginally less greasy, but come on, it’s still McDonalds. Notice that McD’s doesn’t really market them as healthy, they only market them in a more bourgeois manner.

Those silly gourmet chicken sandwiches at McD’s are just an attempt of theirs to increase margins on food. Didn’t you notice over the past…oh about 2 years now, how the prices of fast food went through the roof (in the U.S. at least)? I mean, prices doubled in no time. Along with this came an emphasis on various new items that always cost more than the old items did, such as those new chicken sandwiches, which have nothing to recommend themselves over anything else on the menu. McD’s does have the ol’ McChicken sandwich for sale still, for $1, but I never see it posted on the menu (you have to ask for it).

A month ago, I spent an insane near-$9 at Carl’s Jr. on a hamburger, fries and drink. This customer-gouging isn’t going to go on much longer, and in the past month I have seen the proof: Nearly every fast-food joint I’ve been in is handing out coupons, and my local BK is offering daily combo specials for $3.59.
